Aslan AK is the front man and lyricist of Class Actions. After recovering against all odds from paralysis at the age of three , Aslan developed a strong identification with the underdog and quickly became aware of the injustices of society (documented in ‘The Underdogs’). Despite training as a lawyer and a promising career in modelling, Aslan’s main passion was always his music. He’d been writing poetry from a very early age and soon began to express his contempt for contemporary society in rhyme. Aslan’s lyrics deal with issues such as racism (‘House N- No More!’), human rights (‘The Terrorist’), class struggle (‘M is 4 Maggie’), relationships (‘Do You Feel Safe?’) and more unusual topics such as ex-footballer Paul Merson (‘Magic Man’). After meeting Mike F he developed his pacey, aggressive rapping style known as ‘shout rap’ and subsequently a charismatic stage act which according to one commentator ‘literally demands attention’. Aslan has high hopes for ‘Keep Your Pride’ and the follow up album next year and says: ‘After witnessing the racism and immorality in society, its a pleasure to stick two fingers up at it and speak the no-holds barred truth’.
